How to Install Windows 7 Style Start Menu in Ubuntu 18.04 & Higher

For those who want to replace the default Gnome desktop application menu, with classic Windows style start menu, it can easily done with Gnome Shell extension in Ubuntu 18.04 and higher.

Arc Menu is a Gnome shell extension designed to replace the standard menu found in Gnome 3. It offers application menu with search functionality as well as quick access to files on your system.

Here’s a screenshot of Arc Menu integrated with Dash to Panel extension:

Install Arc Menu in Ubuntu 18.04 & Higher:

Simply open Ubuntu Software, search for and install the Arc Menu extension.

You’ll see the new application menu once you installed the extension.

And install Dash to Panel extension if you want single system panel.

Also install Gnome Tweak Tool from Ubuntu Software to be able to configure this extension.
